Finally, it's Friday
One of my fellow staff members shared the following devotional thought with us this morning during staff worship. She did not know who had written it, and in searching for it online, I couldn’t find it either. Because it was a blessing to me, I am passing it on to you anyway.
“When I meditated on the word Guidance, I kept seeing “dance” at the end of the word. I...

Thankful Thursday's: students
I am thankful for my students. The good ones, the ‘bad’ones, and the ones who are absolutely crazy. I am thankful for all the “good mornings” and “good byes”, being missed when I’m gone, pictures they’ve drawn, and even the occasional hug. Having students is a lot of work. But today at least, I am convinced that they are worth the work.
What...

Praise the Lord, grade 7 edition part b
On Friday, I had a student who was told by his doctor that there was an 80% chance that he would not see out of his left eye again. Now, by God’s grace, and after ALOT of prayer, he was told he WILL see again. How great is our God?! Restoring sight to the blind, even in 2012. If you were one who sent up a prayer, thank you.

“But as for you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘You shall surely observe My sabbaths; for this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you. For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD; whoever does any work on the sabbath day shall surely be put...

Praise the Lord!!! Grade 7 edition
This morning I went to the hospital with the vice principal to visit one of my students who had a serious eye injury from soccer (pray for him). While I was gone, the principal planned to go to the classroom during the worship period first thing in the morning to tell the students why I wasn’t there, and where I was.
When she got to the classroom, she was absolutely amazed by their...

Thankful Thursdays
Today, I am thankful for nature. Actually, I am almost always thankful for nature. There are so many practical lessons to be learned, sights to be seen, smells to be smelled, and things to investigate in natural environments, all of which provide relief to the stressed and busy mind. Being in a city these days, I think I appreciate the countryside even more. Therefore, I am also very thankful...

Make a difference Monday
I have come to the conclusion that almost everything we do in our own lives impacts the lives of those around us, whether for good or for bad. If I don’t take care of my health, I am a bad influence on others around me, but not only that, someday I may die before my time. Then, as a result of personal decisions, I have put other people through unnecessary pain. If I don’t keep my...

Thankful Thursdays
This morning when I got on the bus, most of the seats were already full. Because I get off before the metro station, I decided to stand by the back door. As I was there, I noticed a woman sitting down almost across from me, reading her Bible. She looked very intent. Then it got even better: the woman in front of her was reading a book which from the binding and ribbon bookmark also looked...

NO WAY!! This is my hometown. This is why I hate the oil industry in a nutshell. But hey, I guess we’re at least on the reality TV map now? I’m pretty convinced that probably isn’t a good thing…

Make a difference Monday
Today someone cooked supper for me (and my roommate, who had to eat later than I did). And I made a birthday card for someone else. I don’t know how much of a difference I made, but supper was AWESOME.
Did you make a difference today?

Thankful Thursdays
I am thankful for good neighbors. Tonight someone knocked on my door who looked like a sales man. I opened it, he said he was from Bell. He asked me who my Internet provider was, and honestly, I didn’t know the name (that is one of my roommates responsibilities) so he said check the router. So as he is standing at the door, I go to check the router, and read the name brand of the router...
