Flashback
One semi-cold morning about a year and a half ago, a small group of friends met to pray on the roof of a building under construction in the wee hours of the morning. To pray for God’s Spirit to be poured out in their small church in their small town, to pray for unity, and mostly to pray specifically for the store that would soon be opening under that roof, that it would be a light and a...

Thankful Thursdays
I am very thankful today to be living on the island of Montreal, with a roommate who God chose for me, working in a school which God chose for me, going to a church which God chose for me. I still don’t understand all of these stations or callings, but knowing that God is still faithful to lead in my life, and in the lives of people in general when we put our trust in Him, makes me so very...

The Thoughts I Think: Novocaine →
thomaschristianson:
Imagine you have a serious toothache, and so you go to the dentist to get it fixed. The dentist takes x-rays, pokes around on your teeth and tells you that you have a deep cavity.
But instead of getting out his drills and the cement needed to perform a root canal, he just pulls out a syringe of…

Risk management
Apparently, according to the risk management policy of the SDACC, large parties traveling together are booked in several different flights. Why? Because if the plane for GAA goes down with all the staff on board, we not only lost staff, but we lost a school. Now, That is a dire thought….

Make a difference Monday
Yesterday afternoon, a friend of mine dug my car out of a pile of snow, shoveled out my parking spot, and put salt down. I don’t own a shovel, and I don’t have any Road/sidewalk salt. Then, today as I was running late for work, I was able to drive my car, and arrive on time. This act of kindness made a difference in my life.
How have you helped out a neighbour today?

The Middleton: Why I'm Against SOPA and PIPA: A... →
themiddleton:
I am greatly excited by the surge of support that the anti-SOPA/PIPA movement has received in the last week. My great concern, though, is that many people may join protests not fully understanding why they are even doing protesting. In light of that, I want to share a few words with my tumblr…

Thankful Thursdays
This Thursday I thought of two people at the same time who I am very thankful for… However, I will save her older sister for another week…
Dear cousin who I grew up with who people used to think was my twin,
I am so very thankful to you for a childhood full of laughter, and tears, and joy, which we were able to share so much of together. Thank you for picking me up from the gravel...

God's great timing...
Last Sunday (a week and a couple days ago) I wrote thank you notes to several people. Today, I received a thank you note from my grandma…that she wrote the Monday morning after I wrote hers… It’s exciting to think we were trying to encourage each other at the same time. Different locations, same Holy Spirit.
The highlights? “I really think Jesus is coming very...

"It is Written"
“Satan is a diligent Bible student. He knows that his time is short, and he seeks at every point to counterwork the work of the Lord upon this earth. It is impossible to give any idea of the experience of the people of God who shall be alive upon the earth when celestial glory and a repetition of the persecutions of the past are blended. They will walk in the light proceeding from the throne...

Thankful Thursdays
Thank you, dear friend who lives far away in the United States and is probably very warm right now and may never read this,
I am very glad that we have been friends for so long (you got me through the first couple years of high school), although our lives are so far apart. It means a lot to know I have a friend so loyal that even after close to seven years of living no-where close to each other,...

Make a difference Monday
Sometimes it’s easy to get so caught up in our own ideas of what we should be doing, and how we should spend our time, that we forget those around us. As Christians, we must remember that we are not our own, but we were bought with a price.
Tonight, as I was getting ready for bed, early (8:30) I received a call from a friend who needed to talk. By the end of our conversation, I realized...
